Koi T&Cs – Delivery, Returns and Purchase Terms

  • Koi T&Cs explain the important delivery, returns, payment, quarantine, holding, and purchase conditions customers should understand before buying koi from Queni Koi.
  • We offer APC koi deliveries using a pre-12pm next working day service where available. The delivery charge is £29.95 per box. Multiple koi can often fit into one box, especially smaller Tosai mixes, but larger koi or larger quantities may require extra boxes. If more than one box is needed, we will pack the koi carefully to provide the best possible transport conditions based on the size and quality of the fish.
  • Every koi shipment is prepared with care. Koi are packed in double-walled bespoke boxes, double bagged, insulated, and supplied with the correct level of water and oxygen. Koi will not be sent until we have confirmed a delivery date with you by phone or email. Customers must provide a valid contact number and email address. Delivery days are usually Wednesday or Thursday, and customers who choose delivery will be contacted each Monday about the coming week’s deliveries.
  • These Koi T&Cs also explain that some postcodes are restricted for koi deliveries. Customers should check the restricted postcode information before ordering, especially if they are unsure whether koi delivery is available in their area.
  • Due to biosecurity, koi cannot be returned once they have left our premises. Once koi have left us, we cannot accept responsibility for them thereafter. All koi undergo our strict 6-week double heat ramp quarantine procedure before sale.
  • Koi under £500 must be paid for in full. For koi over £500, customers may leave a 50% deposit, with the balance payable on collection or delivery. If you simply do not like the koi after viewing, you may exchange it for another koi of the same full value or greater, where applicable. Refunds or credits are not offered simply because a customer changes their mind.
  • From 1st April to 31st October, purchased koi can stay with us for up to one month. After that, a £25 per week per koi holding fee applies. From 1st November to 31st March, koi can stay with us until 1st April, after which the same weekly holding fee applies. Overwintered koi are considered customer property and will not be refunded.
  • For Japan Live koi, the Koi T&Cs include similar quarantine, payment, gender, and biosecurity conditions. Japan Live koi may stay at QK free of charge until 1st April, after which a £25 per week per koi fee applies. If death occurs while koi are in our care, a store credit, replacement, or refund may be issued depending on the situation.
  • Genders are not guaranteed unless clearly specified, such as with a female guarantee. If a female guaranteed koi is later found to be male, sufficient proof will be required before any credit is issued.
