Evolution Aqua K+ Media is an advanced pond filter media designed and manufactured in the UK by Evolution Aqua for improved biological and mechanical filtration. With its innovative shape, large protected surface area, and mineral-enhanced surface texture, this media helps support faster filter maturation and stronger beneficial bacteria growth.
During the extrusion process, minerals, magnesium, calcium, enzymes, and salt are added to the raw material. This creates a rough microscopic surface with peaks and craters where waste particles can collect and nitrifying bacteria can colonise more effectively. The minerals also act as a food source for bacteria, helping the filter mature faster compared with many standard filter media options.
Evolution Aqua K+ Media provides a total surface area of 1350m² per m³ and a protected surface area of 1,025m² per m³. This gives bacteria and bio-film a safe area to develop while still being exposed to oxygen and nutrients in moving bed filtration systems. Its 10.2mm diameter and 8mm length make it suitable for use in bead filters, conventional pond filters, marine filters, freshwater aquarium filters, and Nexus+ filters.
The design helps improve solids handling, increase flow rate, reduce back pressure on pumps, and support lower energy consumption. Quiet zones within the media allow microscopic organisms such as Rotifers and Vorticella to thrive, adding further biological filtration benefits.

Unfortunately, once koi have left our premises, we cannot accept any responsibility for them, and they cannot be returned. Additionally, specially made products, such as custom filtration systems, can only be returned if they are faulty or damaged.
