PURE+ Filter Start Gel is a highly viscous gel containing concentrated nitrifying bacteria to help kick start new pond filters. This live, concentrated bacteria culture sticks to the filter media, allowing rapid colonization and accelerating the maturation of your filter. PURE+ Filter Start Gel converts ammonia and nitrite efficiently, reducing stress on newly introduced fish and helping maintain a healthy aquatic environment.
The gel is ideal for all types of filter media, including bead filters, Japanese matting, and conventional beads. It is particularly effective with Evolution Aqua’s K1 Micro Bead filters, ensuring optimal bacterial development from day one. PURE+ Filter Start Gel complements other products in the PURE range, including PURE Pond Bomb for rapid bacterial boosts and PURE Pond for ongoing maintenance of ammonia and nitrite levels.
To apply, shake the bottle well, unscrew the cap, and pour directly onto the filter media. There is no risk of overdosing. For best results, add oxygen to the pond via an air pump and diffuser, and switch off any UV-C systems during and 12 hours after dosing. Regular water testing is recommended, especially before adding fish to the pond. While PURE+ Filter Start Gel matures filters and promotes beneficial bacteria, it does not address green water; a suitable UV-C should be used for algae control.

What should I do if I receive a damaged or incorrect product?
If you receive a damaged or incorrect product, please contact us at orders@queni-koi.co.uk as soon as possible. We will replace the product free of charge and cover the return shipping costs for the incorrect or damaged item.
Can I return koi or specially made products?
Unfortunately, once koi have left our premises, we cannot accept any responsibility for them, and they cannot be returned. Additionally, specially made products, such as custom filtration systems, can only be returned if they are faulty or damaged.
How do I cancel my order?
