Bone Charcoal is a premium water filtration media designed as the final stage of pond and aquarium filtration. Supplied in 25kg sacks, Bone Charcoal efficiently removes residual chlorine, chloramine, and up to 90% of heavy metals such as copper, zinc, lead, cadmium, arsenic, iron, and nickel. Ideal for koi ponds and ornamental aquariums, this filtration media ensures crystal-clear, safe, and healthy water for fish and plants.Produced by the eco-friendly dry distillation of sun-dried cattle bones in the absence of air, Bone Charcoal retains a high Calcium Phosphate complex (90%) and 10% elemental carbon. The organic material is driven off during kiln heating at almost 1000°C for a minimum of six hours, leaving a highly effective inorganic filtration medium. This method avoids the use of fossil fuels, making Char environmentally sustainable compared to other carbon-based filtration media.Bone Charcoal is designed to fit into the last stage of your filtration system, including large blue or black canisters. As a final purification step, it complements carbon blocks and granular activated carbon (GAC) by removing contaminants that other media may not fully capture. Regular replacement every 3–6 months, depending on usage, ensures maximum performance. This bone char provides superior water quality, making your pond safe for koi and even suitable for human consumption when properly maintained.

What should I do if I receive a damaged or incorrect product?
If you receive a damaged or incorrect product, please contact us at orders@queni-koi.co.uk as soon as possible. We will replace the product free of charge and cover the return shipping costs for the incorrect or damaged item.
Can I return koi or specially made products?
Unfortunately, once koi have left our premises, we cannot accept any responsibility for them, and they cannot be returned. Additionally, specially made products, such as custom filtration systems, can only be returned if they are faulty or damaged.
How do I cancel my order?
